Here is an attractive, good quality and sought after size antique George III style mahogany leather office desk, circa mid 20th century. Boasting a serpentine design, the desk features a good quality single panel sage green and gold leather tooled insert. Below, the desk sits on bow front pedestals, which house a bank of graduated drawers. The drawers feature cock-beaded fronts with floral carved drop-ring handles and lovely flame mahogany veneer fronts. The drawer linings are dovetailed. The top three drawers feature a working lock and key the other drawers were not designed to have locks. The sides and back of of the pedestals feature polished panels, which means the desk can be freestanding in the centre of a room (or if you prefer, against a wall). The desk sits on Georgian style ogee bracket feet. The pedestals, frame and drawer bottoms and sides are constructed of engineered timber with a flame mahogany veneer. The desk dismantles into three sections (top and two pedestals) for easy transportation. This is a sought after desk having a serpentine design and popular size. The desk can be dismantled into three sections for easy transport and access through the narrowest of doorways to its intended location.
This item features a rich dark brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

The desk and leather is in excellent original condition. The leather is clean and free from damage, rips or any stains. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the desk and pedestals but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are some small marks inside the drawers, but nothing significant. The desk has a working key, which operates the top three drawers. The other drawers were not designed with locks. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
