Circa 1790, George III mahogany serpentine sideboard. The top in flame mahogany is crossbanded in satinwood and kingwood, and has a very stylish polished steel back gallery which has been added later. The front of the sideboard has the classic configuration of a bow fronted drawer in the centre and another drawer in the apron below. On the right hand side of this is a deep wine drawer and there is a cupboard on the opposite side. These and the drawers have large oval handles with stylish pulls. The sideboard stands on 6 square tapering legs which are string inlaid on the front. At the sides, there are inlaid flame mahogany panels with crossbanding. The sideboard has great colour and patination.
