A stunning George III mahogany dressing chest raised on boxwood strung square tapering legs terminating with original brass castors. The crossbanded top lifts to reveal a good size mirror (original) and various lidded compartments. The drawers have brass ring handles and run well, they are embellished with fine boxwood and ebony stringing. The stringing is continued on the sides of the chest, indicating the quality of this piece. The condition is very good, there is a very minor short crack to the top, this can be seen in the photographs with careful scrutiny, it is commensurate with age and does not detract from the appearance of the chest. This is an outstanding example of Georgian design and would be an elegant addition to any room in the home.
