This is a superb quality early antique George II oak farmhouse 6ft gate leg table, circa 1740. It originates from the Border counties area (Hereford), England and is constructed with a solid oak top and two oak drop leaves. Below, the top sits on an oak frame with baluster turned oak legs. The table is constructed using a dowel and peg construction method. The table will seat between 8 persons very comfortably but can seat up to 10 people if required. It boasts an excellent colour which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care the table has received. This is an ideal table as when it is extended it can offer a very large seating number but at the same time, it consumes little space when the table leaves are put down.
