An unusual late 18th century French Empire solid pear wood buffet sideboard, retaining its original brasses and working locks.
This is a really lovely piece of antique furniture, lovely proportions but it’s also slightly shallower than many buffet which lightens its feel too. Fabulous warm tone to the pear wood and wonderful decorative grain patterns, panelled sides and turned columns to the front corners with brass collars.
The buffet has the full width drawer above panelled doors which open to give you lots of storage space with a single fixed shelf.
Simplicity at its best and one of my favourite pieces currently!

39 3/4 inches 101 cm high
50 3/4 inches or 129 cm wide
22 inches or 56 cm deep
14 1/2 inches or 37 cm bottom shelf height
10 3/4 inches or 27.5 cm top shelf height Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!

Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
