Framed Nicholas Pocock Watercolour Painting
Artist - Nicholas Pocock (1740-1821)
Title - Opening of the Aust Ferry
Details - Watercolour panting in sepia tones. Waterside scene. Nicely done with good detail. Signed in one bottom corner, dated and titled, although the date and the title are difficult to read. The painting has been pasted on to a backboard (and discolouration from the glue has affected the paper). Mounted, glazed and framed in a vintage frame. The artist's name and the date are written on the back of the backboard.
Condition - Overall in fair condition. The painting has some discolouration and some damage. The glue from having been pasted to the backboard has affected and stained the paper and there is also some foxing (brown spotting). There is some damage to the paper surface in places, particularly to one top corner. The vintage frame has some knocking, scuffing and wear as might be expected and some losses in places.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Visible Image Size - 50.5cm by 31cm
Frame - 66cm by 47cm, 2cm deep. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
