Fine Georgian Scottish mahogany serpentine chest
FINE Georgian Scottish mahogany serpentine chest of drawers in ORIGINAL UN-TOUCHED condition. Very nice bold serpentine shape with four long drawer configuration. The drawers all with cock beading and their original oval brass plate handles.
Nice shape feet with inlaid boxwood line decoration. Also inlaid boxwood line to the edge of the top. Very nice grained timbers used throughout even on the ends with no splits or cracks. The drawers are all ash lined with full width bottoms.
A few old ink stains to the top but the whole piece retains its original finish and as such is a gorgeous colour all over.
Top quality piece of early 19th century Scottish antique furniture almost definitely Edinburgh made.
