Fine and not a common shape 6 foot wide George III DEMI-LUNE mahogany and boxwood inlaid sideboard with good original brass rail to the back. The sideboard has square tapering legs with spade feet with boxwood line inlay. It comprises of a single big triangular shape drawer in the middle with a deep bottle drawer on either side with a cupboard to either side of that which is also triangular shape. The drawers and cupboard doors all have a boxwood line round the edge. The curved aprons under the middle drawer are inlaid with a beautiful shape shell.

The top is veneered with a beautiful flame veneer with a boxwood and ebony line inlay about 1" in. The edge of the top has a boxwood line top and bottom and a matching ebony and boxwood line through the middle.

The drawers are mahogany lined, the handles are later Edwardian replacements.

The whole piece is a gorgeous faded colour all over. There are some minor shakes to the veneer on the top which have been filled at some time but these do not detract from the piece at all, in fact you have to look hard to find them.

Demi-lune shaped sideboards are not common at all and this example is particularly nice.
