Beautiful 19th.c. inlaid rosewood sleigh style daybed or couch c.1880. Six foot long bed with loose feather filled seat cushions and cylinder shaped bolster pillows, between high raised ends. Rosewood veneered frame with exceptionally fine Classical style marquetry work inlays to the front of each end and to the top and front of the centre board. Gracefully curved ends with roll-over tops and carved with large and beautifully observed swan’s heads at seat height. Plinth base with inlaid stringing. Excellent condition with brand new upholstery, whilst the frame has been cleaned and polished in our workshops. Disassembles for ease of delivery.
