A delightful silver tone Evans 'Orchid' mesh bottom compact as seen in many compact books including Laura M Mueller's 'Collector's Encyclopedia of Compacts, Carryalls & Face Power Boxes. The lid is an orchid in high embossed relief & given an 'antiqued finish' which looks gorgeous! The lid lifts to reveal the underside of the orchid - this given the 'antiqued finish' too & a framed mirror which gives an excellent reflection. The mirror frame also given this antique look. The powder well is protected by plastic to prevent powder from damaging the mesh bottom. The original gauze is in place. The mesh bottom is excellent too like the whole compact - very sound.
This very appealing novelty compact measures 2 1/2" & weighs 50.2 grams.
