Description:
Here is a stunning quality antique English Victorian rosewood three-seat couch, circa 1850, with a fantastic quality frame, which has been newly upholstered, and is in excellent condition. The couch has been upholstered in top quality structured pale satin gold brocade upholstery, interspersed with a floral pattern, finished with a fine quality matching braiding to the frame. The couch is constructed of solid rosewood and boasts a stunning quality frame with a central carved floral fretwork pediment. A moulded sweeping frame, secured by upholstered arms terminates on finely carved scroll arms above shaped supports. The couch benefits from a sprung serpentine shaped seat the seat is firm but comfortable you do not sink into the seat. The underside is finished with traditional hessian backing. The frieze displays a finely carved floral central cartouche. The couch is raised on pronounced tapering block legs, decorated with trailing floral carvings at the front, with plain splayed legs to the rear. This is a strong and sturdy couch which is noticeable by the weight of the item it is extremely heavy to lift!
This couch features a stunning rich brown rosewood colour to the frame. As it boasts the original polish it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. It is impossible to re-create this colour if it has been re-polished.
This couch would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hallway to the living room. The couch would certainly grace any home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So don't miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

This couch is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the rosewood frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The couch has been newly upholstered in top quality structured pale satin gold brocade upholstery, interspersed with a floral pattern, finished with a fine quality matching braiding to the frame. Therefore the upholstery is new and in excellent condition (it’s clean with no signs of wear and tear or damage). The seat is firmly sprung, but at the same time, is extremely comfortable. The underside is upholstered in traditional hessian. As the couch boasts the original polish it has a fantastic colour and patination. This colour can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The back and arms are also in good condition with no loose joints, and no missing carvings. This couch is well constructed, solid in joint and is ready to use.

Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.
