Description:
Here is a pretty antique English Art Deco burr walnut two-door single-piece wardrobe, circa 1930, in good original condition. Comprising of an elegant Art Deco moulded frame, the 2-door wardrobe boasts an exterior of stunning mirror matched burr walnut veneers to the front and figured walnut to the sides. The doors also boast their original carved vertical walnut and brass handles. The left-hand door retains its original sliding bolts, top and bottom, to secure the door when closed. It also includes the original hanging bar to the interior. The right-hand door retains its original working lock and key, as well as the original push-button latch mechanism. Inside, the wardrobe features a comprehensive fitted interior. The left hand side of the interior includes a telescopic hanging rack at the top, with 2 hanging hooks either side. At the bottom is a sloped shoe rack. The right hand side of the interior sports an array of different storage. At the top is a pair of hinged, glass-fronted compartments, below which is a stack of three shallow drawers. Further below is an open compartment and at the very bottom is a pair of deep drawers. The drawers are all sycamore lined, run smoothly, close flush to the frame and feature dovetailed construction. A former owner has labelled all the various drawers and compartments, presumably. The wardrobe sits on its original bracket feet and the back features solid backboards. This is a single piece wardrobe and because of its narrow width, it is ideal for compact rooms, as it consumes very little space.
The item would be at home in any traditional or contemporary setting and consumes very little space. This piece boasts classic art deco styling in the overall design of the curved moulded frame, corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the feet.
This wardrobe features a rich yellow-brown walnut colour. It has a lovely colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

The drawers feature quality dovetail construction and also close flush to the frame. The wardrobe retains its original backboards and it stands on its original feet. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
