An English Enfield sword bayonet pattern 1856/58. As it came to us uncleaned with its leather scabbard still soft no splits stitching good top of the scabbard still showing some bluing with a gentle clean this will come up very well. Bayonet press stud works fine pressed leather grip no splits firm on hilt mussel ring .577 no pitting just dark age patina same for the blade, marked E above crown 41 below the cross guard .. a good honest sleeper.
