Elizabethan Carved Oak Refectory Table, Circa 1580 16th 17th century %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
An Elizabethan oak carved refectory table dating back to 1580. This table is an extremely rare and fine example showcasing the highest quality of craftsmanship. It features four bold, turned legs with a simple cup and cover design, supported by moulded lower stretcher rails.

The upper rails are adorned with deep-cut gadrooned decoration on the sides and back, while the front is embellished with intricate Elizabethan ed and strap work designs. This table seamlessly combines functionality with exceptional Elizabethan design features, reflecting the wealth and status of its original 16th-century owner.

With a lovely rich patina, it retains its original timbers, including the original top, making it as functional today as it was 450 years ago.

It can accommodate six to eight people as a dining table and can also be used as a center table or library table.

Dimensions: 220 cm length x 76.5 cm width x 81 cm height.

Provenance: This table comes from the private collection of a highly respected early British oak specialist, adding to its historical significance.
