Edwardian Mahogany Gillows Wardrobe
A beautiful, solid Mahogany, early Edwardian, ‘Gillows’ wardrobe. With out swept cornice, with dental mould decoration, to left hand side a large mirrored door, which opens up to feature an extending clothes rail. The right hand side has a large mahogany panelled door with single linen slide. This is positioned over a bank of graduated drawers, fitted with swan neck style brass handles. This item is finished off by sitting on a large deep clothes drawer, and stands upon out swept bracket feet.
The item is stamped ‘Gillows’ which is renowned for creating fine quality antique furniture using only the best materials available all drawer linings are made using Ash, and finished with fine dove tails.
This piece is in lovely condition considering its age, and still retains its original key for cupboard and main door. You must appreciate that this piece of furniture has experienced some wear and tear during its life time, and so will have some damage to its polish work and the odd knock and bang.
This item breaks down into three individual sections for ease of transportation and reassembly, but please be aware that this item is extremely heavy.
