Edwardian Mahogany & Inlaid Music/display Cabinet
A delightful and fine quality Edwardian Sheraton Revival mahogany small display and music cabinet with satinwood banding and boxwood line inlay, having an overhung cornice above two glazed doors opening to reveal a fabric lined interior with glass shelf, above an arrangement of three fall-front drawers with ‘Stone’s Patent’ mechanism (originally for storing sheet music), and raised on elegant swept square tapering legs.
Width 23” (58cm) Depth 16” (41cm) Height 47” (119cm)
Condition and Details of Restoration
This cabinet is in original untouched condition and is structurally sound. The polish has been revived, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some minor old marks underneath the polish as might be expected on an example of this age, as can be seen from the photographs. The fabric lining, while unlikely to be original, has been in there for some time it is in generally good condition, though there is a slight stain to the front bottom edge. It would be perfectly possible to replace this lining please feel free to contact us to discuss this.
