A set of Edwardian Golden Oak Jockey Scales by De Grave, Short & Co Ltd, London

This is a great and interesting piece, the scale is a mobile device it has retractable handles and large wheels, a set like this would have been used at local and country racing events rather than at a major racecourse
The scales is made in Golden Oak, it has a seat as the scale pan and on the side a sliding beam mechanism inside a box, this weighs up to 24 Stones ??? perhaps Jockeys were heavier in the olden days
A charming piece perhaps a stand alone bathroom scale/seat ? for a quirky bathroom design
The scale is 30” high, 32” long and 21” wide
