Rare Globe Wernicke antique double pedestal oak roll top office desk.

Handmade by the world famous and best known antique furniture brand Globe Wernicke Co Ltd London.
It was bought from out of a private mansion residence in Cumbria, where it was in continued use by the family by several generations for 115 years.
4ft wide at 48 inches.
Featuring a fine fully functional roll top that slides up and down with ease.
With original lock and key for the top.
Globe Wernicke name embossed inscribed on the lock also original authentic makers logo plaque in the base pedestal top drawer.
It stands on elegant block feet.
This desk is a wonderfully handsome piece of furniture to grace any study or office.
It will become a favourite place to work in your home office.
Also it would be equally at home in a commercial environment.
This substantial desk has been skilfully accomplished by the much admired Globe Wernicke Co Ltd.
A classical and timeless double pedestal desk.
It has been wonderfully crafted from fine solid wood oak.
With 7 deep drawers in the base pedestals in total, of which 2 of them are deep filing drawers.
Circa early 20th century 1900's.
Very spacious top section, fully fitted interior with pigeon holes and 2 interior drawers, with 2 slide out pen holders.
Lock & key for the top.
Having masculine pull handles & dovetail joints.
The top does lift off and the base pedestals separate, they are held together by wooden dowels & screws also with back panel.
You will need to assemble the desk yourself and put the top section onto the 2 bottom pedestal bases and also attach the back panel with screws.

Condition Condition report. Offered in fine charming used old well worn condition. Having various noticeable charming pre owned wear tear scuffs, scratches, stains, dust, chips commensurate with usage & age. A noticeable repair has been made to the writing area in the top, 1 pigeon hole has been replaced in the top interior. Some inner drawer partitions are missing.You will need to assemble the desk yourself and put the top section onto the 2 bottom pedestal bases and also attach the back panel with screws.”
