This is a delightful bergere 3 piece suite with Chinoiserie decoration which dates from the beginning of the 20th Century. The sofa and chairs are profusely hand-decorated and gilded with traditional Chinese figures and landscapes with rich detail in gold, coral and green against the black lacquer frame. The suite has great character and stands on stunning ball and claw feet, the rear feet having castors which make it very easy to move around. The suite has bergere canework which is in good condition on all three pieces. All cushions are feather filled and are upholstered in a charming fabric with pheasants and foliage which suits the suite really well.
The suite is in excellent order save for some minor rubbing to the lacquer which is to be expected for a piece of this age. The sofa measures 148cm long, 77cm high, 75cm deep and has a seat height of 40cm. The chairs are 75cm wide, 77cm high, 75cm deep and have a seat height of 40cm.
