Chatourel, Paris. A rare, very early French carriage antique clock. A Paul Garnier series 0/1 case with lift up rear glass door with integral push button repeating. A rare feature of rack striking to the backplate and gongs under the case. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong. A subsidiary alarm mechanism with 3rd dial hand. A silvered dial with blued steel hands. A replaced lever escapement of circa 1880. The antique clock dates to circa 1835-40. Chatourel worked at Rue St-Honore from 1812.
