Early 19th century French burr elm buffet
Wonderful colour to this beautiful early 19th century French burr elm buffet sideboard or server with a full width frieze drawer and two doors below for storage.
One of the best I’ve had in all my years, the burr elm is so decorative and make great statement pieces. For a large piece of antique furniture, those shaped feet raise the buffet up just enough to give it a lighter look than a full plinth base for example.
The doors open up to a single full width fixed shelf and has a working lock and key.
Great price of antique furniture and of great quality and condition.
Measuring:
43 1/4 inches or 110 cm high
54 1/2 inches or 138.5 cm wide at the feet
23 1/4 inches of 59 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
