Dinner Gong rare Pugin influenced Arts and crafts
Here we have a wonderful very rare Arts and Crafts Oak Pugin influenced dinner gong c1880. As you can see the gong has fantastic colour and patina. This rare Gothic revival peice oozes quality throughout. The top is almost Pagoda meets Castellated with the finest quality carving. Below is a carved not applied freize which reads 'Better late than never' in a wonderful Gothic font. The letters retain the original polychrome paint and there is further painted embellishments to the sides with intials and to the legs with typical Gothic symbols. The sides are chamfered and there is further carving below the gong. The feet are traditionally pegged and again chamfered. A super peice of Arts and Crafts antique furniture in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 25 inches wide 34 high and 13 deep.
