Superb quality 19th Century Chinese plant stand or lamp table has a fabulous colour and patina to the hongmu, or suanzhi wood.
The hexagonal top with a pink variegated marble inset over an exceptionally well carved shaped apron with foliating carved frieze and open fretwork on all sides supported on carved shapely legs joined by a diagonal cross stretchers over fluted feet. The wood has a fabulous glowing patina throughout and is skilfully carved. The whole piece is of a substantial size with good colour will look stunning wherever it was placed.
