A charming Charles II 17th century oak six plank coffer of pegged construction, c.1650.

The coffer has a wonderful colour throughout and is very tactile. There is a wood shrinkage split across the front left of the coffer, and an area of warping to rear left joint. The lid has later replacement hinges and opens and closes with ease. The interior has a later candle box.
