Charles I Walnut Credence Table c. 1630 credence table oak %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
These rare antique tables were often found in churches and places of worship where they would be covered with fine cloths and set with chalices, vessels and sacriments. This is a provincially made example in walnut and oak, with original turned finials, applied split turned decoration and original forged iron and riveted hinges. Beautiful gun barrel turned legs support the lower shelf.

The top opens to rest on a pull out oak loper.

Some candle burns and partial cracks but all timbers original and retaining almost all original pegs. In principally very good original condition, solid and sturdy, and dating from c. 1630

A rarely seen early English credence table.

Dimensions are:

35 inches wide, 17 inches deep, 29 inches high.

For metric please multiply by 2.5
I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.

I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
