This set of oak cased Victorian weights were Norfolk County Council inspector's testing weights. The weights are stamped “ V R” and/or “E R” were used by local authorities to check that shops were not short-changing their customers. This case of weights consists of 13 weights from 1 dram to 7lbs. The 9 smaller weights fitted within the mahogany case which fits in the top of the oak case. The exterior bears an brass plaque engraved with COUNTY OF NORFOLK. DIMENSIONS:- Height…6.25’’/ 16cm. Width…15.25’’/ 39cm. Depth…9’’/ 23cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £32.
