British 19C Victorian watercolour landscape paint
Antique original British 19th Century Victorian watercolour painting.
There is a hand written note on the back that says 'May 31st to June 2nd 1893, 3 to 5 fine'.
Entitled (we think) 'In the Meadows, Bromley Hill'. This appears to the same location as paintings 6000, 6007 & 6003. If anyone can identify the name of the location, please let us know as we would be very grateful.
We think that this painting is very well executed and from a skilled artist.
297mmW x 220mmH.
This is one of around 20 paintings that we believe come from the artist (this one we think is possibly the best and adorable, certainly my favourite). A couple of them are marked with the name BA Whitworth, but we have not been able to find out anything about the artist.
Only slight yellowing (as you would expect). A little wear to the edges from being handled and the odd tiny spec or mark, but free from any major defects. The painting does not appear to have been ever mounted or framed.
Stock No. 6006.
