Late 19th.c. military officer’s campaign chest c.1880. In solid camphorwood, a fragrant and pest resistant timber which helped protect contents during passage, further strengthened with brass corners and bindings. With a flush fitting handle to the lid and heavy duty brass carry handles to each side. Great character and particularly good colour, with some obvious old wear to the top. A repair to the edge of the lid at the front right corner and on the back, also on the right hand side. Otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
