A Very fine example of an Austrian Regulator with very nice details including a paneled back board with Walnut Veneers. As you can see from the images the whole antique clock is original, not a marriage of movement and case, quite obvious when you look at the mounting plate for the movement. The movement is very clean and works perfectly and fits onto the mounting plate with 4 keyways. I have seen this before on a couple of them Vienna Regulators. The movement and face are not signed so I really can't say who made the timepiece but whoever it was obviously was a real craftsman. The whole clock is in very fine condition, all the glass appears to be original, the only slight faults I have found is right at the bottom of the case. The tiny ball has been reattached and there are some slight hairlines on the chapter ring in the numeral eleven but you have to be close to see them. The door is lockerable but the small key is missing but I will try and locate a replacement. Date of the antique clock, mid victorian 1850's but cannot be certain. We welcome any inspection of the clock at our shop, just ring us to say you are coming.
