Attractive Large Antique Carved Oak Church Podium
A lovely antique lectern. We date this lectern to the 1900s.
It has recently come into our possession from a local church.
The lectern comes in one piece and is quite heavy. Please be aware with regards to access for delivery.
The lectern sits on a plinth base with a wide step at the rear that is covered in a blue carpet.
The lectern’s front panel has an attractive celtic knotwork carving and again at the front of the reading slope. The main top has a lip at the base to hold the book with an open area below.
The lectern has an overall height of 55" (139cm), an overall width of 32.5" (83cm) including the rear step, an overall depth of 38" (97cm) including the rear step, a step height of 4.5” (12cm) and a reading stand width of 21” (54cm).
This lovely oak lectern remains in a good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. The top reading surface has a few very minor indentation lines and marks from past use and there is some minor wear to the carpet from past use also.
This remains a very stylish and elegant lectern. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
