This outstanding and ornate Victorian arts and crafts walnut Secretaire cabinet features a central bevelled glass door in between shelves on the top over a drop flap with a carved and fitted interior central space. The bottom half of the cabinet has two drawers over a double door cupboard space with shelves inside. The unit has an enamelled plaque with the maker’s name, which is Bartholomew & Co, a cabinet maker of the period in Finsbury, London. The cabinet has the original brass handles and hardware, along with the original lock and key. It measures 43 ½ in – 110.5 cm wide, 17 in – 43.1 cm deep and 82 in – 208.2 cm in height. This beautiful Cabinet would make a lovely focal point and decorator’s piece for a wide range of rooms and decors. Thomas Crabb Antiques was founded in 1979 and is run by Stephen Roy Thomas.
