Superb quality late 19th.c. adjustable dressing stool c.1880. A little larger than many we see with a 16″ diameter circular seat freshly upholstered in a William Morris pattern fabric. Height adjustable on a threaded metal column within an Arts & Crafts style walnut frame with crisp turned and carved legs joined to the centre with moulded stretchers. Stamped for the screw makers Joseph Fitter of Birmingham on the threaded brass receiver in the base. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
