Art Deco Dining Boardroom Table. Waring and Gillows.
A magnificent golden oak Art Deco oval dining/conference table sitting on a twin pedestal bases.
One of the pedestals complemented by an under table wine cabinet.
For ease of transportation Gillows made the table in seven pieces: four leaves two pedestals and a frame.
This beautiful table when fully extended will comfortably seat twelve people and would grace any dining / boardroom .
Angela has set the table for Sunday lunch in the barn!,demonstrating how it easily seats Twelve people with plenty of space for a full Twelve place dinner service wine and water glasses and table decorations .It would probably seat two more bringing the total to fourteen people.
The table commissioned by Holt and Co (trading as the Blue Funnel Line a UK shipping company) for their new offices in Liverpool's Art Deco India Buildings Completed in 1931.
The paper label on the underside of the frame tells us , it was used in the managers dining room where the company directors would sit and eat lunch in style and discuss business matters of the day.
Made by Waring and Gillow master cabinet makers. The design attributed to the renowned architect Serge Chermayeff.
Chermayeff worked as head designer at Waring and Gillow in the in the late 1920s to the early 1930s.
This is truly a spectacular and rare piece of antique furniture ,that has been fully restored to the very highest of standards.

Length fully extended 132 inch 11ft.
