This is an antique writing desk. An English, mahogany and Amboyna office, study or drawing room table, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Graced with exceptional figuring and fine craftsmanship
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Striking Amboyna drawer fronts present beautifully

Arranged as a pair of useful drawers below a wide writing surface with gently rolled edge
Each drawer dressed with a pair of brass drop handles, set upon shaped and pierced backplates
Quality drawer fronts dovetail skilfully with clean pitch pine boxes

Eye-catching shaped brackets accentuate the lower fascia
Turned legs at each corner, with cupped and collared decorations
Riding smoothly upon a quartet of articulated brass castors
