A very tall and impressive antique Victorian bookcase in mahogany. This was made in England, it dates from the 1860-1880 period.

It is a great size, with lots of storage space in the upper and lower compartments. The top section has four adjustable shelves, the lower section has two drawers above a two door cabinet with a single shelf. It has rounded corners, top & bottom. All the doors have arched tops & it sits on a plinth base.

The quality is excellent, with fine, hand cut dovetailed joints, lovely brass handles and beautifully moulded edges. There are locking keys for the upper and lower compartments, and this comes apart in two sections for ease of transport.

We have had this re-polished, it is in lovely condition for its age, with a gorgeous colour and patina. There are just a few minor bumps and marks here and there under the polish, commensurate for age.
