Antique compacts Gwenda foil CRINOLINE LADY powder compact Art Deco compacts something blue gifts
Before WWII foil made in England was made from tin & so this antique foil compact makes the most charming 10th wedding anniversary gift.
This vintage compact is suitable for use with modern loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.
Such a beautiful antique Gwenda powder compact with the original unused puff, instruction leaflet & tap flap still in place - all in excellent condition. As pretty as can be! The most enchanting 'crinoline lady' holding flowers in one hand. In the background royal blue foil serves as the night sky & also a stream running through the garden in which she stands. Pretty flowers adorn the scene & the trees, hedge & a bird house are in silhouette against the night sky. The colours / colors still as vivid as the day the compact was made. Push the adorable Art Deco thumb catch & you will see the interior complete with the original tap flap signed 'GWENDA REG TAP FLAP MADE IN ENGLAND'. It is rare to see these compacts still with the original tap flap in place. The mirror is very good & gives an accurate reflection. The little puff has not been used. The instruction leaflet has this - 'TO FILL LEVER OUT POWDER TRAY COVER + GENTLY TAP DISC WHEN USING'. The base is decorated with black enamel. Much more beautiful than I have been able to capture with my camera. The light patches are light reflecting on the lid decoration & enamel base.

This vintage compact mirror measures 2 1/4" X 2 1/4" & weighs 45.7 grams.
