This is a very attractive Zanzibar chest dating from around 1850 with stunning brass work and studding and a nice warm golden chestnut colour to the wood.The chest has good proportions for a table centrepiece or foot of a bed measuring 93 cm wide 41 wide by 43 high. The solid chest is in good sound order with its original candle box inside and decorative brass hinges.
A really characterful period piece.
