This is an antique silver chest. An English, oak and iron bound trunk, by Elkington and Co of Liverpool, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1880.

A stout, appealing chest
Displays a desirable aged patina
Select oak shows fine grain interest and wisps of medullary rays

Iron bound corners with handles to each side
Lid raised upon sturdy, internal hinge and stay
Chest interior bears the brass maker's mark of Elkington an Co, silversmiths of Liverpool

This is a wonderful antique silver chest with beautifully figured stocks of oak. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
