This is an antique secretaire bookcase. A Scottish, mahogany cabinet dating to the late Victorian period of the 19th century, circa 1880

A fine and rare example in very good order
Crafted in choice cuts of quality mahogany

Raised on beautifully carved hairy lion paw feet
Modest crown moulding with crossbanded frieze
Upper cabinet flanked by magnificent helically reeded pillars

Opens to reveal a single full-width shelf within

Locking secretaire drawer dressed with loop handles over lion mask back-plates
