Antique Queen Anne Style Sofa, English, Two Seat
This is an antique Queen Anne style sofa. An English, upholstery and mahogany two seat settee, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
Rich yellow hues and superb patterned upholstery
Displays a desirable aged patina
Traditionally stuffed, comfortable seating
Standing upon mahogany legs with deep russet hues
The high back in the Queen Anne style offers a striking profile
Wing backs and high arms ideal for fireside seating
The arms gently curved with cascading end panels
Later, high quality upholstery with fine foliate pattern
Pair of cushions with piped trim at a height of 51cm (20") for relaxed seating
Carved ball and claw feet to the front with square section at rear
Well upholstered and providing a very solid frame. A fine quality example of period seating.
Suitable to be enjoyed 'as is' - we note the small fabric tear to the lower front frieze for the sake of accuracy
