This is an antique plant stand, a carved Chinese side table, torchere or pedestal in hardwood dating to the early 20th century, circa 1910.

Profusely carved with a dark, wax, polished finish
Classic oriental styling in good proportion

Broad top framed with a band of foliate carving
Pinched above a generous, pierced frieze

Raised on stout, tapering cabriole legs
