This is an antique pier cabinet, an English burr walnut, glazed, display cupboard. Victorian, circa 1870.
A fine example in burr walnut with a desirable aged patina
Good colour accentuated with ebonised bun feet and moulding to the top
Well figured grain interest in a wax polished finish
Highlighted with pierced ormolu appliqué and keyhole escutcheon
Tram line boxwood stringing and foliate garland inlays to the forward panels
Raised on a chamfered plinth in good proportion
Glazed display door features working lock and key
Original tan cloth interior complimented by four later glass shelves
