Antique Persian enameled copper bowl and plate set of lobate form in fine condition and dating from the Early 20th Century.

The detail on the enameling is exquisite and it must have taken many days of dedicated work to complete the decoration, particularly of the bowl which is painted both inside and out.

Each piece has a central painting of stylised birds which look a little like pink flamingos, and this is surrounded by concentric rings of tiny flowers and other patterns inspired in nature.

Condition: The condition of both pieces is not far short of exceptional when you consider their delicate nature. There are some tiny nicks to the enamel rims and there is some damage to the foot of the plate where enamel has chipped off. There is also a tiny flea bite about 3mm long on the enamel plate on the border surrounding the central panel where there is a return on the surface. With the exception of the small dent to the foot of the plate there are no other dents to the surfaces.
