Fine quality antique mahogany bureau in good original condition, which I would date to around the 1910 period. It has a gilt metal pierced gallery on the top, plus gilt handles, mounts & feet. I think this bureau is English with a French neoclassical influence. There is a nicely fitted out interior behind the fall with a tooled leather writing surface, small drawers & compartments. The outside flap is flame mahogany with a cross banded edge. The drawers are also flame mahogany with satinwood banding & fine dovetails. This is a very elegant bureau.
