Very solid fine quality Georgian chest of drawers in mahogany, dating from around the 1790-1820 period, in good original condition. The grain of the mahogany is really nice & I think the brass handles are original, as are the escutcheons. It still has the original old blue lining paper inside the drawers, which are finely dovetailed & all the locks are there too. This chest has a lovely colour to the wood & there are no splits or warps. It sits on strong bracket feet & still has the original back. The previous owner told me he bought this chest in the Olympia Antiques Fair about 20 years ago for over £2,000.
