Antique Georgian Mahogany Bow-Front Side Table c.1800
A late Georgian side table table in well-figured mahogany. The shallow bow-fronted top sits above a central drawer, flanked by a pair of deep drawers and raised on turned legs, all typical of early nineteenth-century English cabinet work. The central recess is decorated with carved fan motifs adding a touch of refined neoclassical sophistication to the otherwise restrained design.
Ideal as a hall, console or serving table, equally suited to a study or dining room. Graceful in form and finely balanced, it reflects the poise and craftsmanship of late Georgian antique furniture at its best.
Presented in very good antique condition, with a warm patina and surface wear consistent with age and use. There is evidence of historic woodworm to the underside and an old repair beneath one drawer, both long-stabilised. Drawers run smoothly and are fitted with later brass ring handles in period style. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
