A stunning antique French marquetry inlaid marble top bombe secretaire chest with an original rouge marble top and pull down writing surface. This was made in France and dates from around the 1890-1900 period.

It is of amazing quality, the carcass is predominantly rosewood, with gorgeous inlaid marquetry throughout. There are high quality gilt bronze mounts, and the interior is also beautifully finished. The writing surface is leather, the internal drawers fronts are rosewood and most of the interior is burr maple lined.

The amazing marquetry scene on the pull down flap is very detailed & is a work of art in itself.

We have recently had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
