Antique French Carved & Upholstered Parlour Sofa
A Beautiful fully restored & reupholstered 19thC French 2-seater Parlour Sofa. With a hand carved mahogany frame in the traditional & elegant Louis XVI style with acanthus leaf decorated arms above fluted reeded legs. A solid mahogany frame which is now fully repolished and complemented with the fully reupholstered seat, back & arms which are topped off with a new 21stC contemporary fabric.
It’s not just a great looking piece of salon furniture it’s also comfortable and generous to sit in .... ideal for occasional use in your country house's hallway but also ideal in a large bedroom or perhaps your Boudoir or parlour as originally intended....if you have right retail environment this sofa will definitely increase and add to your shops interior appeal.
As I mentioned above this sofa has been fully restored and during this restoration new stronger joints have replaced the smaller weaker original dowels and full wood worm treatment has been carried out despite the holes seen on the worm holes seen in the photos been very old age related rather than 'live' and fresh! A further proof of its country of origin with the old sign of worm often found on French pieces....we call it character and it does not distract from the overall quality of this fine piece of French Antique Furniture.
