Antique Dutch Marquetry Bombé Bureau
A 19th century Dutch marquetry inlaid bombé bureau profusely decorated all over with marquetry depictions of flowers, urns and birds. With a rectangular flap opening to reveal a striking floral marquetry stepped fitted interior with a well, two small drawers support the flap and a further two short and two long drawers below provide plenty of useful storage. Ornate pierced brass handles and escutcheons decorated with birds and with a bombé front and sides and shaped apron, the whole piece stands on splayed feet.
Good condition for age, has had some restorations and the usual repairs to the legs and shrinkage lines to the veneers (a result of the curved surfaces).
Width - 40.25in (102.5cm)
Depth - 20.5in (52cm)
Height - 44in (111.5cm)
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for more photos.
Ref: 0590
Please appreciate all our items are antique and as such may have minor scratches, marks, knocks, shrinkage splits signs of old woodworm, and minor losses to veneer, which combine with care and years of polishing to create an individual character and patina. We cannot describe each marks separately and therefore suggest you do take the time to request extra photos. We do offer a 14 day money back guarantee for UK purchases but cannot refund the return shipping cost.
