This is an antique dressing screen. An Italian, painted mahogany privacy screen or room divider, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.

Quality original bevelled glass
Three tall panels concertina smoothly from folded to full extension
Crossed wheat sheaf decorations top each panel, presented against a spring flower ground
Continuous link border to the frame edge with secondary borders to panel inserts
Silk cotton panels offer shimmering golden tones with repeating star pattern
Large field panels decorate the lower - a sprouting flower vase elaborates with scrolled vine forms
This is an inviting antique dressing screen, with appealing Italianate finish and mellow painted hues. The quality silk cotton panels add warmth to the whole, making it ideal for the bedrrom or dressing room. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
